Mukhamadiev Asgar Gataullovich
Born in 1933, corresponding member of AS RT (1995), doctor of historical sciences,
professor. Заслуженный деятель науки РТ. Honored Worker of Science of the Republic of
Tatarstan. RT State Prize Winner in the field of science and technology. Professor,
Department of Archaeology and Ethnology at KSU.
He graduated historico-philological faculty of Kazan State University.
Mukhamadiev A.G. is well-known expert in the field of numismatics. Investigated more
than 30 thousand coins and ancient forms of money. Developed monetary periodization for
Itil and Ural regions of 6th-15th centuries. Discovered 10 money weight state wide
reforms and unknown coins.
A.G. Mukhamadiev made a historical discovery of world importance. Discovered by him from Khoresmian coins Turanian alphabet allows reading not only the
Hun (pra-Turk) coin inscriptions of 2nd c. BC – 8 c.. AD, but also previously
undeciphered inscriptions on the vessels of precious metals found in Itil and Urals.
A.G. Mukhamadiev studied ancient Turkic inscriptions
and ancient Turanian alphabet, from which later emerged the runiform alphabet.
Участвовал в раскопках городищ Нижнего Поволжья Сарая ал-Махрус, Сарая ал-Джедид,
Белжамена, а также Иски-Казан, Казанского Кремля и т.д. He participated in excavations of the ancient
sites in the Lower Itil Sarai al-Mahrous, Sarai al-Gedid, Beljamen, Iski-Kazan,
and Kazan Kremlin, etc.
He is actively teaching. He lectures on national history, history of Tatarstan, archeology, and numismatics. For the first time
prepared and leadss courses
on "Turkic-Tatar (Khoresmian, Khazar, Bulgar, Kipchak Khanate, Kazan) numismatics", "Cities and
Urban Culture of Kipchak Khanate", "Ancient Hunno-Turkic states of Eurasia".
A.G. Mukhamadiev is an author of 6 monographs, textbooks for history departments of
universities in numismatics, and more than 80 articles. He repeatedly participated with
scientific reports at the national and international conferences.
A.G. Mukhamadiev is a board member for doctoral
theses at KSU and the PT Institute of History, and of the Kazan Kremlin Research and
Restoration Council.
