Introduction

This page lists the works of W.B. Henning, an outstanding philologist of Iranian languages, that bear on the history of the Türkic peoples. W.B. Henning was exploring Indo-European subjects, and in doing that continuously stumbled on traces of Türkic peoples that fit into Indo-European paradigm as deer antlers on a jackalope. The objective of the posting is not to delve into philological mechanics, but illuminate that many subjects still used by IE proponents as axiomatic truth have already been shown as false, misnomers, and refuted.  The summary of observations of the honest scholar:

1. Alphabetic form of Chinese “Xiongnu” 匈奴 is Huns. A true English translation of Chinese annals should use Huns for 匈奴.
2. “Tokharian” language is a misnomer that has nothing to do with the Türkic Yuezhi/Tokhars
3.  On Argi and background on misnomer “Tokharian”
4. Horesmian is much closer to Pashto than to Ossetic or Sogdian. Pashto is a Türkic dialect of Urdu or an Urdu dialect of Türkic.
5. Ancient Mesopotamia housed Türkic-sounding nomadic tribes Guties and Tukriş that kept appearing with Türkic tribes Kangar, Subartu and Kumans.
6. Practically unexplored Akathyri ~ Akatsirs ~ Acatzir ~ Agacheri
